Dr Mickey Ramalho gained a BSc in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Bristol in 1997. Mickey worked as a post graduate research assistant at the University of Bristol and University College London, in the field of biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology. In 2005, Mickey was awarded a PhD from Imperial College where she studied subcellular localisation of virus-like gene therapy vectors and exogenous gene delivery using confocal microscopy. Her research also incorporated the used of Scanning Surface Confocal Microscopy integrated with SICM to study the internalisation of virus-like particles on the surface of living cells. She subsequently worked as a post doctoral research associate at Kings College London in the field of cancer genetics using both her cell biology and microscopy expertise.
Mickey joined ionscope in January 2008 as Head of Life Science Applications.
